What is Electronic Business Tax Service (EBTS) and how can it benefit my company?
ADP's EBTS is an easy and convenient way to make federal business income and excise tax payments using your touch-tone telephone.
Will I be able to pay my state taxes as well as federal taxes through the Electronic Business Tax Service?
No. Due to the differences in each state's laws and regulations, it is not possible to deposit state taxes through ADP's Electronic Business Tax Service.
Can I be penalized for failing to make electronic deposits of my business income and excise taxes?
Yes. Failure to comply with EFTPS for both payroll and business income and excise taxes can result in federal penalties of 10% of your tax liability. To see other FAQs on the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System, select EFTPS from the category listing above.
I received a confirmation number at the end of my EBTS transaction. Should I keep this for my records?
Yes. Your confirmation number is proof that the transaction was accepted; please retain it in the event of any discrepancies.
Will I receive a monthly statement detailing my EBTS deposits?
If you have made an EBTS deposit during any given month, a Deposit Verification Statement will automatically generate. These statements are mailed the first week of the following month.
When should I call in my EBTS deposit?
To ensure that your tax deposits are made in a timely fashion, you may call in your deposit up to 120 business days, but not less than three business days in advance of the due date. Transactions conducted after the three business day period may not be processed in time; therefore subjecting your company to possible penalty and interest charges.
When do I need to have the funds available in my bank account for debiting by EBTS?
To ensure timely impounding and depositing of your taxes, please have the funds available in your account on the day you call in your EBTS transaction.
